Defensemen Camp Overview
In today’s game of hockey, the position of defense is getting harder and harder to play, the expectation to be a solid defensive player, yet be able to contribute offensively is greater. With speed of the game always getting faster and the skill set of players getting higher, the challenges defensemen face is at a high point in the game of hockey.
Better Player is offering a Defensemen camp, to help todays defensemen learn proper D side positioning, proper skating skills to face and stay in the play, proper gap control, learn to walk the offensive blue line and be a threat at all times. We will teach evasive concepts in d zone, neutral zone and offensive zone to allow more space and time. Today’s defensemen have to develop aggressive patients, as we like to call it. Learn to have tight gap, to control an offensive player through body position, yet not over committing and leaving yourself vulnerable to being beat badly. We will teach defensemen the 4 main ways they can generate or initiate the break out.
This program is for Defensemen minded players. Forwards are welcome but this all about playing D.
